Your sources and connected accounts
Notebook is a private reading and writing workspace. Your notebook belongs to your account. Creating or using a Thinker is optional.
What Gmail access allows
Connecting Gmail grants read-only access to your mailbox, including messages and attachments. It does not let Notebook send messages, change labels or delete email. We use that access to help you find, read, summarize and organize selected emails alongside your work.
Search and preview read the messages you request. Only content you select and confirm is saved as notebook sources. If you enable checks for a Gmail label, new matching messages are listed for review. They are not automatically added to your notebook.
What Google Drive and Box access allows
Connecting Google Drive grants read-only access to the files in that account. Box only allows downloads under its read and write permission, so its consent screen lists both. Notebook only lists and downloads files. It never edits, moves, shares or deletes anything. We use that access to list your folders and to search file names so you can choose files. Only the files you select and confirm are copied into your notebook as sources. You can disconnect an account from Add sources at any time, which clears its stored access tokens.
AI assistance and publishing
When you ask a question or generate a draft, the selected source excerpts and your request are sent to OpenAI to produce the requested response. Generated text is saved as a private draft with source references. Notebook data is not used by AristAI to train a general-purpose model.
Email-based drafts cannot be added to a Thinker. For other drafts, adding content to a Thinker requires a separate selection and confirmation. This creates a separate copy which people using that Thinker may encounter in answers. Editing a private draft does not silently update that copy.
LinkedIn and uploads
LinkedIn imports read posts, article references and profile writing from the archive you upload. Contacts, private messages and unrelated account history are not imported. Articles that contain only a link are identified as such. Uploaded email files are parsed into a body and readable attachments so you can choose them separately.
Retention and deletion
Import previews expire after one hour and are removed by the cleanup job. Confirmed sources and drafts remain until you delete them or your account is deleted. In notebook settings, you can disconnect Gmail to stop future access, or disconnect and permanently remove content imported from that account and drafts derived from it. Disconnecting clears stored access tokens. Already published Thinker copies are independent: remove those copies from the draft’s publication panel or the Thinker’s content library.
OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. Notebook content uses the platform’s database storage. Access through the product is scoped to the notebook’s owner; a Thinker collaborator does not inherit access to your notebook or mailbox.
Google Limited Use
AristAI’s use and transfer of information received from Google Workspace APIs adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
