AristAI Thinker connection privacy
Updated September 27, 2026
This notice explains how the AristAI Thinker connector provided by AristAI connects your teaching library to an AI application. Read it with the AristAI Privacy Policy.
What you authorize
You sign in to Thinker and choose one library you own. The connection can read that library’s inventory, source titles, available source text, citations, saved video-link metadata and Thinker profile. It cannot select another account or library through a tool argument. Access is checked again when a request is made.
If you allow saving conversations, your AI app can send the excerpt or concise summary you explicitly ask it to save, up to 20,000 characters per request. It should not send unrelated chat history or credentials. Thinker stores the supplied text as a library source without rewriting it. Its AI service providers process that text to index it for retrieval and prepare separate profile suggestions for your review. New biography or style suggestions can replace older pending suggestions for those fields; your published profile does not change until you approve an update. The separate conversation-import feature in Thinker stores a distilled summary when you choose that workflow.
What is shared and stored
The AI application receives the results of the library tools it calls. Your verified account email and an account identifier may be shared for sign-in and workspace security checks. Your Thinker password is not shared with the AI application. The application’s own privacy policy governs material it receives and conversations you have there.
Thinker stores the selected library, account identifier, verified email, application name, permissions, connection dates, and hashed authorization credentials. These records support access control, renewal, revocation and troubleshooting. Hosting and identity services also process operational information necessary to provide the service. This connection does not give Thinker access to your other conversations in the AI application.
Retention and expiry
Library sources and saved summaries remain in the library until removed. Removed sources are recoverable for seven days and become eligible for permanent cleanup afterward; cleanup can occur when more material is added. Profile suggestions are separate records and remain available for review.
Authorization requests expire after ten minutes and authorization codes after five minutes. Access credentials expire after fifteen minutes; automatic renewal, when authorized, uses rotating refresh credentials valid for up to thirty days, within a maximum connection lifetime of ninety days. These are access expiry periods, not deletion deadlines.
Disconnecting immediately stops access but does not delete connection records. The connection, verified email and hashed credential records are retained until the Thinker account is deleted or a deletion request is completed. You can request deletion through the support contact below. Your AI application and our service providers apply their own retention arrangements to data they process.
Your controls
Disconnect an AI application to stop future library access, including automatic renewal. A connection lasts no longer than 90 days before you must authorize it again. Removing your ownership also stops access. Disconnecting does not erase content already sent to the AI application or summaries you saved in Thinker.
You can remove saved material in Thinker’s Content page. Contact support@aristai.io to request access, correction or deletion of account and connection records. Retention, service-provider processing and other privacy rights are described in the AristAI Privacy Policy.
